Description
How it works in practice
The leaking water or heating pipe is drained (e.g. blown out with a compressor) and then filled with forming gas (5 vol.% hydrogen and 95 vol.% nitrogen). This shielding gas is commercially available and, in addition to its low price, has the advantage that it is neither flammable nor toxic. Its use is therefore completely safe.
