Laser HUNTER - 251220
Description
The Laser HUNTER is a highly sensitive and selective LDAR (leak detection and repair) gas detection device for the systematic pipe network inspection of buried gas pipelines. Due to the innovative laser technology, cross-influences caused by humidity or exhaust gases are excluded. The laser module is available in two variants. In the dual version, the sensor can be used for a quick and uncomplicated differentiation between natural gas or digester gas (ethane analysis) to avoid time-consuming and costly pinpointing in the case of digester gas. If desired, the device can be equipped with additional sensor technology to enable further applications in the course of pipe network inspections. So you have everything in one device!
Features
- Innovative laser technology as single laser (CH4) or dual laser (CH4 & C2H6)
- Reliable measurement of smallest gas concentrations, no cross-influences due to humidity or exhaust gases

Laser HUNTER at the core of a modular system for every application
The Laser HUNTER can be used as the core of our modular system for pre-location.
The Laser HUNTER is the central element of the modular system for above-ground leak detection and gas concentration measurement. Since the revision of the DVGW regulation G 465-1 in 2019, various forms of above-ground inspection have been approved. The modular design offers the right solution for every application – flexibly combinable with just one Laser HUNTER as the detection device.
Depending on the terrain and requirements, different carrier systems are used:
from the classic carpet probe (TS14) or bell probe for manual inspection, to the e-scooter with carpet probe for urban routes, to the quad bike with suction bar and pump unit for rough terrain. The GasCar Laser HUNTER is available for efficiently testing large areas in accordance with DVGW G 465-1 – a vehicle-based solution with an integrated suction system.
Thanks to the modular system, the detection performance remains constant, regardless of the vehicle system – thus enabling seamless and standard-compliant inspection of gas pipes in any location.
Quantification of methane leakage in combination with the Vakumobil
The Laser HUNTER can be used not only for highly sensitive leak detection, but also for quantifying methane emissions in accordance with DVGW G 425-2. In combination with the Esders Vakumobil, natural gas is extracted through specially developed probes, while the Laser Hunter detects the methane concentration in the extracted air stream. These measured values, together with the known volume flow of the Vakumobil, enable a precise calculation of the methane leakage rate at the measurement point. The combination of the two devices thus offers an effective solution for network operators who want to document their methane emissions and reduce them in accordance with the EU Methane Regulation.
